Rental Terms

All vehicle rentals in Wirral come with a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable fees, and your obligations concerning the rental. Should any discrepancies arise between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Renting a vehicle with us requires:

• To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Wirral, you must be at least 21 years old, although age limits may differ depending on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. You need a valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle class, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of your current address are required, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.

Booking and Payment Process

• Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or at our Wirral location. A deposit may be needed to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.

4. Car Pick-Up and Drop-Off

• At the time of collecting your vehicle, it is essential to perform a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Additionally, please return the vehicle with the same fuel level it had at collection to avoid refueling charges. If you expect to return the vehicle late, inform us in advance, as late returns may incur extra fees. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.

5. Insurance and Responsibility

• All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Full coverage information and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to limit your financial responsibility. Please review these options closely. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse, or violation of these Terms, remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.

6. Modifications and Cancellations

Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.

7. Restricted Activities

Prohibited vehicle uses:

• Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any activities that pose safety risks. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is also prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle must not be used for purposes it was not designed for, nor should passenger or weight limits be exceeded. Driving outside of the agreed geographical boundaries without prior permission is not permitted.

Breach of these terms may lead to immediate rental termination and extra fees.

8. Liability Limitations

To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Wirral will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for your rental in the prior 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence or fraud.

9. Local Legal Framework

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be addressed exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.

10. Updates to Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services signifies acceptance of the revised Terms.
