All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Wirral, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type, with possible extra fees for those under 25. A valid driving licence suited to the vehicle category is required, along with valid identification and proof of address. Additionally, valid payment details and a security deposit must be provided. Any further requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement must also be met.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Wirral office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are generally payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is necessary to identify and report any pre-existing damages. A vehicle condition report will be completed and both parties will sign it. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damages will be evaluated and additional charges may apply. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will be charged if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may attract extra charges, so please contact us promptly if you foresee any delays. You are accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All car rentals include basic third-party insurance. Full details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to help lower your financial responsibility. It's advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on your booking type and the notice given. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.

- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, off-roading, or similar dangerous activities is not allowed. The transport of hazardous materials is forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is prohibited. Utilizing the vehicle for unintended purposes, exceeding passenger or weight limits, or driving beyond agreed geographical boundaries without authorization is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Wirral will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount you paid in the prior 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be addressed exclusively within the jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Your ongoing use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
